Meeting began with the pledge and the prayer. We extended prayers to Ed D who was in for procedure. We made a donation to Rotary District in Texas for the devestating floods . We talked about Harold's email and some of the good and bad the comes from it. Ideas of a beach party for August could be in the works. We will be celebrating the 50 years of Peace poles with a new pole at the Bridgehampton School soon. Karen Acker was given a Paul Harris award her 3rd. Karen was also the sargent today. Tom G won the 50/50. This day was James Cagney and Phyllis Diller's birthday. Karen embraced a little multiple choice today. The Spanish Civil War was in 1936. In 1954 Disney televised their opening of Disneyland in California. TWA Flight 800 crashed into the Long Island Sound. Karen finished with jokes about the hear, in honor of our program. Robbie Dunno of Gift of Life had so much to say he actually started talking right when lunch began. The Gift of Life charity does so much and all of their stories are truly inspiring and it really draws you in. I've been following Gift of Life for a long time, this is the 2nd time we've had them in for a program. And the board members speak at Happenings all the time. It's just incredible their impact on the world. We also watched a video from some people in Zimbawe as Rob Rylman is on site. A personalized message for the Southampton Rotary Club which was awesome. Hopefully we can gather some folks together to go and celebrate the amazing 50 years and their impact. We appreciate Robbie coming in on short notice and keep us current on Gift of Life
